Wardrobe Wednesday

So I can still see my feet, which I will enjoy as long as I can.  This pregnancy has been different than my other three.  Well, they have all been different but this time I'm hotter and heavier.  I usually only gain 20-25 lbs. during my pregnancies, which is on the lower side, but I have nearly already reached 25 lbs. and still have more than two months to go!  * sigh * I'm just trying to remind myself that this is all temporary and a healthy baby is the goal.  Today I have my glucose test.  Wish me luck!  At the birthing center instead of drinking that vile orange drink for the test I'm eating 28 Jelly Belly jelly beans 45 minutes before my appointment.  Why doesn't every lab do that?!  In these photos I'm 27 weeks.
Andrew has been so patient with me in taking these photos.  He deserves a big pat on the back.

Wardrobe Wednesday

This is my first summer pregnancy in Arizona and I'm feeling it.  Elliot was born in July but we lived in England so the weather was ideal.  Avery was April, Zara was February which was just perfect!  I'll be the first to admit that this pregnancy wasn't my idea.  The timing, that is.  I was going to wait until after this England trip to start talking about it with Andrew, but Heavenly Father had other plans.  As hard as this summer pregnancy is, September really is the perfect time to have this baby.  We'll be settled into the new school schedule with Elliot in 2nd grade, Avery doing half day Kindergarten and Zara at home with me.  When the baby comes we'll start a new chapter in our lives - family of 6.  And hopefully by next summer I'll get the hang of having four kids.  Four kids.  It still sounds daunting.  But it's what we really want and our hearts will grow even bigger than we can imagine with the coming of this second son.  I'm 26 weeks in these pictures.

Wardrobe Wednesday

Oooo, I really love this dress.  It's light and classy and really comfy.  The best thing is it's not maternity but I went up a size and it fits great.  It'll be the perfect post baby dress, although I suppose it's not very nursing friendly.  I suppose a dress can't be everything at once.  I'm 25 weeks along here.

Wardrobe Wednesday

In an effort to embrace this ever changing and growing body of mine I thought it would be fun to share a few outfit posts.  These photos are from a few weeks ago, I think I'm 22 weeks along here.  As much as I don't like being pregnant this baby has been good to me.  My morning sickness wasn't as severe and didn't last as long.  I didn't loose weight my first trimester, which is new for me.  And this second trimester has been golden.  Apart from being super exhausted at times I've enjoyed feeling the baby move and my body go from the awkward chubby phase to cute round belly phase.  I also felt the baby have hiccups for the first time yesterday.  All my babies have hiccups a lot.  It's something I can relate to.

color run

Ever done a  color run?  I few weeks ago I ran my first one with Julie and Kristy.  Being 4+ months along I wasn't sure how much running I would do in this race but I was able to run all 3.1 miles without walking!  This was Julie and Kristy's first race ever and I'm so glad we did it together.  The color chalk really added  fun element to the run!
The only thing that could have made this race better was if it started earlier (9:00, whew!) or was a little earlier in the year.  It was pretty hot!!
Last night I ran 2.65 miles.  I stopped running around this time when I was pregnant with Zara.  It's amazing that some women can run and even race all the way through their pregnancy.  My little run last night at 5 1/2 months was no small accomplishment for me, even if I was only running at a 12.5 minutes per mile pace.  It is amazing what our bodies can do if we take care of them!

maternity shoot

I'm so excited to be so close to the end! I'm also excited to share these photos. My sister, Julie, took them on my camera and I love how they turned out. I never did a maternity shoot with either of my other pregnancies so this was a lot of fun. I'm glad I convinced Andrew to be a part of this photo shoot. He looks really hot! He's going to adore this little one almost as much as me!
Can I just say I love my new camera?!
So, do you think I'm having a girl or a boy?
When do you think this little one will come?
Andrew really wants the baby to be born on February 14 since Elliot and Avery were both on the 14th as well (Elliot - July 14, Avery - April 14). Avery also happened to be born on our anniversary and Feb. 14 is Valentine's Day (duh) and Andrew's dad's birthday. It's just easy to remember. I told him to not keeps his hopes up. Besides, the baby decides when it's ready to come.
p.s. Thanks Julie! You're a babe!

the last month

Well, it's official! I'm due one month from today. That means in a couple weeks the baby could come basically any day now. At least that's what I hope. Last week after a bad night of pregnancy insomnia all I could think about was all the things I haven't done to get ready for this baby. It was a long list. Needless to say the next day I went to the store and bought some diapers and other essentials. This week my plan is to pack for the hospital. I want to be mentally and physically ready for this baby, whenever it chooses to come. I think not knowing what I'm having has caught me off guard. It's harder to prepare. At least I only have one more month of this belly. Andrew told me a couple weeks ago that he couldn't decide what part of my body her liked best. Last week he decided on my belly. Aren't husbands funny? By the way, check out this cute hair tutorial. It's how I styled my hair below. Happy Monday!
p.s. That's Andrew's hand in the picture above. He said it was awkward to take but I really like that picture. My sister volunteered to take maternity shots of me and I'm dying to get some with Andrew. I love feeling he's involved in this pregnancy in ways other than dealing with my emotional highs and lows.

31 weeks

Before I get too much bigger I wanted to post these belly pictures Julie took for me in England. I grew a lot during those two weeks! Must be all the hot chocolate, fish and chips, and other goodies. Not surprising my last midwife appointment showed I gained 10 lbs. in 5 weeks and my uterus is measuring big. Yikes! Since this is my first natural delivery pray for me not to have a big baby. At least Andrew is enjoying all my extra curves.

a growing belly

I thought it was time to document another belly picture. Sometimes it's hard to keep track of these things when it's not your first. I'm at the point in pregnancy where each week I seem to gain another inch around my waist and have to put more "normal" clothing away for some time after baby comes. This dress is next. Have I ever mentioned how hilarious my boy can be? After Andrew took these belly pictures of me Elliot voluntarily posed like this:
Andrew and I are still laughing about it!

remember to smile

I've been meaning to take a belly picture for a couple weeks now. I'm still at the awkward phase where most of the day I just look chubby. We ate out tonight and I ate and drank a lot so it allowed for a nice belly picture.

Things that made me smile:
-I felt baby move for the first time yesterday!
-Got my hair done today and was able to catch up with a good friend (my hair dresser). Two in one!
-We got an iPad yesterday. Andrew won it for free!
-Started another dress for Avery.
-Sang primary songs in the car with the kids. I'm the primary music leader so I get all excited when Elliot knows the words!
-Haven't thrown up in 3 days. Still feel sick though :(

When Andrew comes home from work he likes to ask me what made me smile that day. I think he does that because too often I'm tired and grouchy when he comes home. It helps me reflect on my day and count my blessings. I have such a great husband!

i'm back

I'm back and hopefully blogging somewhat regularly
after my much needed impromptu blog vacation.
I'm expecting, and with expecting
comes lots of sickness and, well, just not feeling myself.
Now that morning sickness is slowly subsiding(I'm 16 weeks)
and I'm able to function better, life is looking brighter.
New life is on the way.
I will be mother of three.
I have an amazing supportive husband.
I am healthy and strong.
I am still beautiful.
It was hard for me, at first, to except that
I can't run as fast.
But I can still run.
It was hard for me to except that
all those hard lost pounds will all come back.
But for the best reason.
It was hard for me to except that
my body isn't just my own right now.
But I'm ready to embrace motherhood all over again.
I've never struggled with getting pregnant
like so many I know.
That's something to truly be grateful for.
I feel very blessed.
