Phases

(Master Elliot in Mr. Freeman's 3rd hammock)
Do you go through phases? You know, where you just want to cook with chicken every night or you want to watch all the Harry Potter movies and read all the books back to back or you go to the same restaurant frequently over a short period of time. I think we all do a bit but I tease Mr. Freeman about his phases because he's learns everything he can about his "phase" and wants to share his knowledge with everyone. Today he made his second hammock in the past couple weeks and he also ordered one online a couple weeks ago. I ask why so many and he says they're all so different. He even went so far as to join a hammock forum. Gotta love his enthusiasm. The thing is, with a phase that's all it is. Temporary. In another month or so it will be something different. Thank goodness. I always tell Mr. Freeman when he thinks I'm getting bored with whatever his current interest is "Better hammocks than guns or something more expensive.) What are some phases you've been through?

just sayin'

Have you seen the movie Miss Potter? Well, if you have, then you have seen this guy.
Such a looker! His name is Justin McDonald. The film Miss Potter, Justin, playing Young Heelis, encourages the main character to be creative and write children stories. In true life Heelis and Miss Potter married. The film is about how Miss Potter became a famous author. Below is what Justin looks like today.
Now, why isn't this guy playing the main lead in any good films? Just sayin'.
(Oh, and my husband is still the most handsome man on earth. Sorry gals.)
That's all.

For love of Tchaikovsky

During a very special time in my life I got better acquainted with Tchaikovsky, who happens to be one of my favorite composers of all times. The other day I was in the car listening to the classical station and Tchaikovsky Symphony 5 came on. I was brought back to when I played it in NAU Symphony as principal violist. As I was listening tears threatened to poor out of my eyes. I have so many good memories of those days. Do you even wish you could go back to a certain time and really live and appreciate how good it was? Those were also the days when Mr. Freeman and I started dating. Well, I thought I would share with you the music that means so much to me.

This happens to be only half of the first movement, so if you have a lot of time go to YouTube and look up the rest of the symphony because it's amazing. I know, you're thinking I'm a nerdy musician, but I don't care.

Arizona weather

I haven't been on the computer at all for over 48 hours and it feels good. Must. do. it. more. often!

I enjoyed the rain immensely today. Tonight, on my way to orchestra, I put on a long-sleeved cardigan and rolled down the windows so I could smell the rain and feel the cool, fresh air. Another reason I rolled the windows down was so I could feel the need of the cardigan while looking forward to cooler days ahead. When I stepped out of the car I realized I still had flip flops on and said to myself "Nice one, Marilyn. You'll always be an Arizona girl at heart." To me the flip flops were a reminder that the girl may leave the desert (like when I lived in England) but the desert never leaves the girl.
Humor me with your attention while I share some photos of today's crazy weather. This branch just snapped off in the wind and fell between mine and my neighbor's yard. Yea! More wood for our fire pit out back!
Yes, I still have my christmas door mat, and yes, I've been using the same one since I got it two years ago, but check out the hail!
I couldn't believe how fast the sun came out and how fast the flooded roads were cleared. Only in Arizona! Couldn't have been a more perfect day.

Been There

Did you read the comics today? This one is the story of my life.

You Again

Friday night hubby and I saw a movie and laughed. A lot. Go see You Again. It's funny, clean, and has some great actors/actresses. It reminded me how high school was (and wasn't).

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows [part 1]

Dying to see the next Harry Potter film. It's great that book 7 is being separated into two films. Let's hope the films are accurate to the book.
Enjoy!
