Bridlington with the Bushnell's

I mentioned that the Bushnell family planned to meet us at Sewerby Hall, then Bridlington beach but didn't make it to Sewerby Hall on time for various reasons so we enjoyed it as a family.  No regrets doing the house tour, even though it would have been fun for the Bushnell's to have been with us, but after we got to meet them at Bridlington beach.

They were so apologetic that it was foggy and  "not good beach weather" but we really thought it was beautiful, mysterious, and unique.  My word was actually "magical".  What a cool opportunity and see Bridlington as we had never seen it before.  And to see our friends again for the first time in several years, it didn't really matter what we were doing or where we were.

The sun was really going down by this point, so I'm glad we took some pictures before it was dark.

My kids would play on the beach any day.  It's always a good time.  Things to discover and the energy of the moving water.  Well, except maybe Elliot.  He prefers to be warm and dry with no sand.

I wanted an adult picture since we have been long time friends, but Elliot insisted on being in one of the photos since we are the 5 that lived in England all those years ago in Hull 2nd ward, before Dave and Laure had their two daughters and before we had the other 4 kids.

It feels like a lifetime ago, and we have grown and changed a lot since then, but those two years were very special to me.  Dave and Laura were good fiends then and will always be.

This splash pool area would be perfect for Bea and other little kids to play in come summer time.

Can you see just how foggy it was?!  You could barely see a few feet of water, even right in front of it.

Dave recommended this fish and chip place nearby.  It was cold at this point so we ate in, but after we learned it costs more to eat in than it does for takeout.  It didn't used to be that way.  Still, glad we were warm for our meal.

The kids felt special with their own juice drinks.

Bea went to town with the vinegar.  She ended up pouring about half that bottle on her plate, bit by bit, and loving it. :)

Our last trip to England was only a week and a half, it just seemed there was hardly any time to do anything, and we barely saw the Bushnell family.  So glad we had more time to visit with them this year.  We saw them at church a couple times, meet up at Bridlington, and went to their house a couple times to visit. Their daughters got on really well with our girls.  Love this family!
