"A" Mountain New Years Day hike

We've done this hike on or around New Year's Day many times.  It's a favorite because it's kid friendly (not very long and they can see the top), and the views are great.  That steep climb and the stairs are great for a good burn too.  Many times we've seen people training sprints.

We always park at Tempe Beach park and make our way across to the trail, which is a perfect built in warm up.  Andrew and Bea stayed at home, for Andrew's hernia and so Bea could nap.  It was so nice not carrying her up that incline.  ;)

Good views and fresh air!  It's always fun to see how much Tempe and ASU campus has changed.  We look for the building with the greenery on top, and the upside down pyramid building.  I look for the area Andrew used to work at Sitewire.  He just barely passed his 10 year anniversary at B2B CFO so that's how long it has been since he worked in Tempe.

It was great having the Mannings there this time.   It was actually their first time on this trail!  We also love hiking with Grandpa too.  I twas a little too steep for Grandma since hiking isn't her favorite.  Hopefully Andrew will join us next time!
